Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about filing a claim below.

  • Do I need to file a claim after every visit?

You will only need to submit a claim once per injury or illness, or if you’ve paid for any of your expenses out of pocket. You will be able to submit your claim, along with any itemized receipts, bills, prescription information, medical notes, etc., right online through your Member Portal.
  • How do I file a claim?

You can submit your claim right online through your Member Portal. Once logged in, click "Claims and Appeals" in the main navigation menu and follow the steps below.

    1. Click the "Fill Out and Submit Via DocuSign" button under the "Authorization Form for Use and/or Disclosure of Protected Health Information (HIPAA)" subheader in the "File a Claim" section.
    2. Enter the insured's name and an email address and click the "Begin Signing" button.
    3. Click the yellow "Continue" button, fill out the form and the required information (as noted by the red boxes); have the policyholder sign the form, and click the yellow "Finish" button.
    4. Clicking "Finish" submits the document and sends a PDF of your signed Authorization Form for Use and/or Disclosure of Protected Health Information to the email address entered. Download or print a copy of your completed form for your records. If you do not receive a confirmation email with your completed form attached within 24 hours, please contact WorldTrips to make sure your form was properly submitted.
  • Can I submit my claim via paper form?

While we strongly suggest submitting your claim online through your Member Portal for faster processing, you can also complete a paper claims form and submit this to WorldTrips via email at service@worldtrips.com.

  • How can I check on the status of my claim?

You can check on the status of your claims through your online Member Portal, or by contacting WorldTrips directly with any questions you may have.

  • What is an EOB?

When a claim is processed, you will be able to download your Explanation of Benefits (also called an EOB) through your Member Portal. This will explain how your claim has been processed or if any additional information has been requested that you will need to submit.
  • I received a bill, what should I do next?

If you receive a medical bill, you should log in to your Member Portal to make sure the claim associated with the bill is on file.

    1. If you do not see this claim through your Member Portal, we recommend contacting the phone number on the bill you received to make sure the doctor/hospital has your insurance information on file. You can provide them with the USA claims address listed on your ID card and ask that they submit the claim to the insurance company for processing.
    2. If the claim is on file, you can download the Explanation of Benefits through your Member Portal to show how it was processed. If any additional information is needed to get the claim finalized, you can submit this through your account.
    3. If you aren’t sure if the claim is on file or how it’s been processed, you can contact WorldTrips directly for further assistance.
  • What If I Do Not Agree with a Claim's Denial?

There may be situations when you choose to appeal how a claim was processed. You may appeal your claim decision using one of the following methods:

    1. Submit the Claimant Appeal Request Form through your Member Portal:
      1. Once logged in, click “Claims and Appeals” in the main navigation menu at the top of the page. You will be presented with the Claims and Appeals page.
      2. Switch the toggle at the top of the page under the “Claims and Appeals” header from “Claims” to “Appeals.”
