While in the USA, your insurance plan includes access to the International Member Assistance Program (IMAP), supporting you in your time of need. IMAP is a virtual and telephonic counseling service focused on providing safe, secure, and private means of seeking mental health assistance from licensed counselors.


Getting Started

To access IMAP, you will first need to register for your Cigna Envoy account so you can schedule a telecounseling visit. You can learn more about Cigna Envoy and how to set up your account below.

Please note — there may be some circumstances where telecounseling will treat a condition that your insurance plan does not cover. If you are given a prescription or referral for an ineligible injury or illness, these costs will not be covered under your insurance plan when you submit a claim.   • What conditions can the International Member Assistance Program help with?

    The IMAP counselors are trained to aid in managing anxiety and depression, stress, substance use, improving family communication, harmony between school and home life, bullying, dealing with life changes, grief, and more.
  • How Can I Access IMAP?

    Once you have set up your Cigna Envoy account, you can access the IMAP telecounseling services through the Cigna Envoy website, the Cigna Envoy mobile app, or the Cigna Wellbeing app.

    To log in to the Cigna Wellbeing app, you will use the same username and password you use when logging in to your Cigna Envoy account.

    You can also access IMAP via phone, email, or global SMS texting.
  • How do I use the IMAP telecounseling services?

    Members can access these services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year via phone, email, or web. You can contact the service for live assistance including short-term professional counseling and telephonic support.
  • Does IMAP telecounseling offer support in other languages?

    Yes, support is available in numerous languages.
  • How much does an IMAP telecounseling visit cost?

    There is no additional cost to access the IMAP telecounseling services and your plan includes 6 face-to-face sessions with a counselor.
  • Can I get a prescription through IMAP?

    No, prescriptions are not part of the IMAP services, and the IMAP counselors cannot prescribe medication.
  • Can IMAP help with emergency crisis situations?

    If you are in a crisis situation, please call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273-8255 for help. If a member calls IMAP during a crisis situation, their mental health professionals will stay on the line and transfer the member to the Suicide Prevention Lifeline for further help.
  • What other wellness resources are available in the Cigna Wellbeing App?

    Through the Cigna Wellbeing App, you’ll have access to personalized tips and services to support you with every dimension of your health. This includes:
    • Health assessments in key areas that affect your wellness
    • Wellness tips, receipts, articles, and more.
    • Wellness Coaching through videos.
    • Health management of chronic conditions.
