  • Why am I having trouble registering for my UHC Member Portal?

There could be a few reasons why you cannot register for your UHC member portal. The most common reasons include:

    • Your program has not started — You will not be able to register for your UHC Member Portal until after your insurance plan has started. If you aren’t sure when your plan starts, check your insurance ID card to confirm your plan's effective date, or ask your sponsoring organization.
    • You entered your name or email address incorrectly — You will not be able to set up your account unless you enter your information correctly when registering. You will need to enter your name the exact way it appears in our system, and will also need to use the email address that is associated with your insurance record.
    • You entered the wrong Member ID or Group Number — You will need to make sure you are entering the correct UHC member ID and group number. Your 12-digit UHC member ID and your 8-digit group number can be found on your insurance ID card.
    • You’re trying to register using your Mobile Phone Number — We do not collect your mobile phone number, so you will not be able to verify your account using this information. Instead, you will need to enter your UHC member ID and group number.
If you have any questions about registering for your UHC Member Portal or need further assistance, please contact us.
  • Do I need to file a claim after every visit?

You will need to file a claim by completing a claim form (and the accident questionnaire if your visit was due to an accident) once per injury or illness. You can learn more about how to file a claim through the Claims Center.

Please note — you will need to make sure to submit your claim documents to Point Comfort within the timely filing window indicated in the policy wording.
  • Has my claim been processed?

When a claim is processed, you will be able to access your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) through your UHC Member Portal. This will explain how your claim has been processed or if any additional information has been requested. The following PDF document will help you read your EOB and understand how the claim has been processed.

  • Why can’t I access my ID Card through my UHC Member Portal?

Your ID card will not be available through your UHC Member Portal. Upon enrollment, you will receive a welcome email that includes a copy of your insurance ID card, and you can also access this, along with your policy details, through the MyDocuments section of your Student Zone.
  • Why can’t I view any information about my Pharmacy Benefits through my UHC Member Portal?

For coverage in the US, your Rx pharmacy network is administered through Prime Therapeutics. You will be able to find pharmacies in your area that accept your plan through the pharmacy search tool, which can be found through the Doctor/Hospital section of your Student Zone.
